iPhoto Facial Recognization


Apple has added some new and unique feature in its new version of iPhoto’09. You will notice a new feature called Faces which is listed under events in the browser window. With this new iPhoto facial recognization feature you can easily organize your photos in iPhoto library by who is in them.

Faces are program that actually recognizes the faces of the people in your photos and also does the tagging. This very feature is very useful for users who are photography buff. iPhoto face recognization requires minimum setup to get going. You can transfer iPhoto to MobileMe and can view your photos. Once you start for labeling the names in your photo you can easily find the photos of your favorite people in a very less time. You can easily create album for specific people by identifying the faces from the iphoto library.



Here is how to get start using iPhoto faces:


  1. Firstly you need to import the photos into the iPhoto library.
  2. Then click on the photo and then click on the name icon which you can see on the bottom of the screen.
  3. After that click on the box that says unknown face.
  4. On the ‘type name’ box type the name of the person in the photograph.
  5. If the iPhoto is not able to detect the face then click on the "Add Missing Face" button. Drag over the face which is not being recognized by iPhoto then click done.
  6. Then repeat these steps for each person. The more photos you would tag the more identification of that person on the photos will be seen.

After doing the process if you are satisfied and think that you have sufficient samples of photos then go to the corkboard. Then click on the any face and iphoto will immediately start for inspection the entire library for any lookalikes of that face. Then after you need to do the confirmation, click the "Confirm Name" button on the bottom of the iPhoto '09 window. In order to do the confirmations of the photo click once to confirm it and click on twice to reject it. More time you do this iPhoto will more easily automatically recognize your faces in the iPhoto.
